The construction of the church of Evagelismos in Kos island began in 1930 originally used as a catholic church. It is an impressive, organized and beautiful building complex that includes the church library and a speech hall with a capacity of about 140 people. This complex also houses the offices of the Holy Cathedral of Kos and Nisyros and the residence of the archbishop of Kos and Nisyros. Remarkable old byzantine icons have been collected and exhibited in the church. The location of the Cathedral of Kos is located near the port and a short distance from the center of Kos. It operates on weekdays in the morning, from 09:30 to 13:00.
